On a cool afternoon in Cheltenham, Worcester under 16s girls were involved in a triangular tournament with Cheltenham North and Chippenham. Firstly can we thank Cheltenham North for inviting us down at very short notice and their hospitality during the afternoon and can we also thank our Marathon Fixture Secretary for all her work she has done during the week to secure this fixture as well as training for the Marathon this week.

The first match was Cheltenham North  v Chippenham where Cheltenham North  squeezed out a narrow victory. Worcester took to the field for the second match but unfortunately an accident occurred during the warm up and we were a player less feom our squad, with a lump on her head.

In a pulsating first half against Chippenham, Worcester held a slender 19 -17 lead  but in the second half Chippenham changed their style of play and x 3 unanswered tries left the final score 34 - 19 in Chippenham favour. Worcesters heads dropped and it showed in the final game of the tournament against Cheltenham North, the first half finished Worcester 0 Cheltenham North 24.

The second half was a different story, Cheltenham North changed a few players and Worcester came storming back with x 3 tries of their own making the score 17-24. With 7 minutes to play the comeback was on, but Cheltenham North scored again and the final score was 17 - 29.

A good day all round, some good performances by the girls. Once again thanks to Cheltenham North, the coaching team of Pete, Matt and Matt, Fixture Secretary Sarah, First Aider Sam, thanks to Andy for supplying a flask of tea for Sam.Our long suffering Administrator Liz, supporters, parents and guardians on a long afternoon, the film maker assisted by Wayne, and not forgetting the little water girl Olivia.

PS

Hope all the injured players are back soon, Chloe, Cassie and Anna.
