Worcester RFC Announce T-Shirt Winner

Worcester RFC can finally announce that the winner of their creative competition to design their training shirt is 10-year-old Oliver Hoskins from Kempsey Primary School.

The club’s kit partner Scimitar have turned his creative magic into a professional looking design which will now be manufactured and made available for sale as part of the club’s new range for the 2022/23 season. Oliver will also get a framed version as well as one to wear, presented by the Club Captain and a member of the club’s Management Committee.

Local children and schools were invited to download the t-shirt template from the Worcester RFC website and get creative, and the club were overwhelmed with the number of entries.

Club Chairman Stephen Lloyd enthused: “Out of hundreds of designs from all across Worcestershire, the judges have deliberated long and hard to pick the winner. Well done to Oliver Hoskins who has produced a fantastic, vibrant and unique design that our teams will be proud to wear. The staff at Scimitar will get it ready for production and I can't wait to see it as a t-shirt. Huge congratulations to everyone who entered the competition! Art and design is truly alive and well in our county!”

Nick Flower, Head of Design at Scimitar, commented: “We’ve seen lots of fantastic designs and were really impressed with what young Oliver has put together. It’s a bright, colourful design that he can be very proud of and I’m sure he will go on to become a talented designer!”

When told that his design was the one chosen, Oli said “I can’t believe I won!” with his Dad Mike adding "Oliver is overjoyed at winning the T-shirt competition. He loves rugby & being creative so can’t wait to see the finished design in real life!" Asked about his inspiration for the design, Oliver said “I love rugby and that’s what my design is all about!”

Tshirts will be available to buy from the club shop at Worcester RFC from the beginning of the new season.
