If you are viewing this page, we hope that you are interested in joining the Worcester Rugby Football Club as a member.  The Club has a rich 150-year history and boast some of the best facilities and rugby in the region.  We are an amateur community rugby club which is run by volunteers and supported by over 200 patron members.  The Club has around 700 playing members from mini and junior rugby for girls and boys from ages 7 – 18, Colts rugby, adult women’s and men’s rugby, mixed ability rugby and also hosts the Saxons who play in the IGR League. The season typically starts in September and ends at the end of April.

The Clubhouse and pitches are a few minutes from Sixways junction on the M5.  The Clubhouse, which was opened in 2016 offers modern player facilities as well as a comfortable lounge, well-stocked bar, food on matchdays and other times throughout the season. The Clubhouse is open Saturday and Sunday for members during the rugby season and is also used for WRFC functions and private hire.

Membership Policy

The rest of this page sets out the WRFC policy for the management of membership.  It may not be the most exciting reading, but it does provide important information about membership categories, privileges, and fees.  Please take time to read the document carefully.

Membership Categories and Fees

WRFC currently offers the following categories of membership:

  1. Patron membership
  2. Playing membership
  3. University Player Membership
  4. Mini Junior playing membership

The current membership fees for each category of membership available on the Membership page of our website, summary of membership categories is listed below:

  1. Playing membership commences on 1st July. Playing Members may elect to pay the fees by 12 equal monthly instalments payable by direct debit. Membership takes effect from the date of the first payment is taken.
  2. Concessionary rates for playing members are payable by students, unemployed, members in receipt of certain benefits and at the discretion of the Membership Secretary following consultation with team managers.
  3. University Membership may be granted to existing, fully paid up player members who have been registered with Worcester RFC on GMS for at least two seasons and are embarking on University education or Serving in the Armed Forces. It is envisaged that they may play four or five matches per season during university vacations or leave and may attend training. University Membership is not available to university students living around Worcester and playing matches at WRFC every week.
  4. Patron Member fees are charged at 100% for members joining between 1 July and 28 February and at 50% discount is available for new members for joining on or after 1 March.
  5. Mini junior membership has two separate fee scales. With the U7s and U8s age groups paying a lower fee, membership commences on 1st July. Mini junior membership fees are due for payment by 30th September.
  6. All members who face financial hardship may have the collection of their fee delayed, adjusted or waived. Members can discuss their options in confidence with the Team Manager or member of the Management Committee.

Patron Members will be issued with a membership card which must be shown to access the ground on match days/Warrior games.

Patron Membership together with a valid card offers the following current benefits and privileges:

  1. Watch a WRFC match without payment of admission
  2. Free entry to games for an accompanying partner and children under the age of 16
  3. Park in the Club car park for WRFC games and Warriors games (subject to availability and parked at owners’ risk)
  4. Use of the Clubhouse facilities and buy food and drink
  5. The right to pre purchase drinks at a discount, recorded on the membership card
  6. Hire the clubhouse at a discounted rate
  7. Apply to be in the ballot for international tickets
  8. Vote at the AGM
  9. Kept up to date the business and finances of the Club

In addition to privileges equivalent to Patron Members, Players will enjoy the following benefits and privileges:

  2. Training facilities, coaching and physiotherapy
  3. Match playing kit
  4. Post-match food
  5. Club Loss of earning insurance
