It was a sunny Sunday afternoon that saw our Girls Under 18's face a well drilled Winscombe for the Regional Cup Semi Final yesterday.

The game was fast paced from the off which resulted in Winscombe scoring their first try of the game within 5 minutes of the starting whistle. Our girls kept up the pressure and had plenty of time in their own half but Winscombes defence just wouldn't allow our girls to get the ball over the try line. At half time Winscombe were winning 0 - 15.

The pace of the game contiuned and Worcester were soon rewarded as Parys crashed the ball down over the try line 2 minutes into the second half. Our girls kept pace with Winscombe and didn't make it easy for them. The specatators thought Winscombe had scored another try only for the ref to announce it had been held up by our great defensive skills.

Winscombe went on to win the game 5 -22.

It's great to win a game but it can also be hard to lose a game, however all the girls game off the pitch smiling after what had been a fantastic game of rugby which showcased teamwork, sportmanship, respect and enjoyment from both teams. They should all be extremely proud of themselves with the effort and skills they displayed.

It didn't go our way but that wasn't for the want of our girls giving it their all. They lost to a great team and they enjoyed the game.

We wish Winscombe all the best in the final and really look forward to playing them again in the future.

We want to thank the ref for a great game, our coaches, first aiders, all the spectators and our players who were not selected for this afternoons game and our injured players who all came along to support their teammates. It really does make a difference to have you all there.

We still have lots of games to enjoy and look forward to for the rest of the season.
