Saturday 14th May 2022, the day after our end of season awards dinner (who scheduled that?), we held the most amazing President’s family club day.

Designed to appeal to everyone from our Didi Rugby (18 month olds to 6 year olds) through to our patron members, this day truly had something for every age and interest. The concept was designed a few years ago as yearly event but then COVID came to spoil all of our lives.

This huge event was planned and delivered by so many of our clubs volunteers and massive thanks goes out to you all. We had a huge array of inflatables and fun park rides, stalls and games run by the various age groups / teams, unfortunately our Women’s rugby match was cancelled but our Women enjoyed the final Warriors match and joined us later. I think I can make a special mention of Paul Knott (M/J Chair), Ian Clarke, AJ and our President Geoffrey Adams.

The Presidents rugby match was much closer than anticipated and was a great fun match to watch with some brilliant rugby from both sides. The ground was hard but the first aider did a brilliant job, swiftly attending to all injured players. (That was me so other opinions may be held!)

The after match meal was delicious and we all enjoyed listening to a really talented young man singing all the right songs for this occasion (if anyone knows his name please let me know) This resulted in keeping us longer and giving us the chance of making new acquaintances from different sections of the club. This was one of the points of organising a “whole club” event.

We also had a film crew filming for a BBC commission and were lucky to have two great volunteer photographers snapping away to record this special day.

I'm sure we will have a proper news update shortly but I wanted to get these pictures published.
