Worcester RUFC under 14 (raptors) travelled to Bournville in the semi final of the North Midlands plate.
Worcester were intending to use the sun and dry conditions to get their running game going early. Worcester recycled the ball from the kick off and Stewart managed to get past the outside shoulder of a defender and score inside 25 seconds.
After the ferocious start with hefty carries from FIAZ, RIAZ and WESTON who were expertly marshalled by scrum half PROBERT Worcester scored again through with outside centre GREEN breaking through to dot down.
Shortly after the restart Worcester immediately got back to it and applied strong pressure and second row WARD crashed over.
Worcester's lightning winger DOWLING was injured in the process of scoring a stunning try a short time later which ended his day. He was replaced by the elusive D’ADDA who hit the ground running causing mayhem for the home defence.
Worcester were beginning to become dominant upfront and after applying some defensive pressure on the Bournville lineout they were awarded a 5 metre scrum. The front row of CRAWFORD, CHILD and McDONALD got the scrum moving allowing PRESS to power over.
This was shortly followed by a maul from a lineout and CRAWFORD crashed over to score.
Despite the success of the first half Worcester were not going to let up and began where they left off with a quick fire hat trick from ARRIDGE.
The last two were either side of a great team move finished by FLEMING.
The pitch was ideal for the effervescent PATRICK who skipped through after a strong scrum to score.
Bournville were struggling with the power of the Worcester backs with HAMMOND, HORSFALL and BUXTON making ground at will. However they were expertly stewarded well by flyhalf ALLSOP.
The RAPTORS final try was at the death by THOMAS who capitalised on a mistake and took a deserved try.
The final score was a pulsating 78-0 win for the Raptors sealing their place in the final on the 24th of April.
