Worcester RFC is an amateur community club, all players pay subscriptions, and volunteers run the club. From the President and Chair through team managers, coaches and first aiders, everyone is a volunteer. We are always looking for new people to get involved in running our club or one of our teams.

We are actively recruiting for the Voluntary Role of Shop Manager who will drive forward improvements in our retail offering.

We see this as a critical role in growing our club and securing the future of Worcester RFC.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the shop, reporting to WRFC Commercial Director and supported by the WRFC Clubhouse Manager (there will be a lot of help with opening times etc from the Bars Team).

  • Previous retail experience 
  • Awareness of rugby kit marketplace
  • Customer-focused

Role and Responsibilities

  • Drive forward Shop refit and redesign
  • Proposing new lines and innovative new products, e.g. print on demand
  • Build a strong relationship with internal stakeholders and our kit partner, Scimitar Sports
  • Recruit team to support you, as required
  • Implement processes and controls, e.g. Stock Management systems, Internal sales to teams, distribution of player kit
  • Coordinate all kit orders on behalf of all teams, MJ and Seniors and Senior Playing kit, combining orders to get the best price on higher volumes
  • Setting prices on all shop items. Striking balance between profit and making rugby affordable for all
  • Sourcing all rugby-related purchases at the most competitive price (first aid, tags, bibs etc.)
  • General Management of the shop, ordering, stock takes, capital management, reporting
