It was a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon that saw 6 teams form two clusters for Worcester’s Girls U18’s first game of the season.

We joined up with a Shropshire cluster with girls from Oswestry, Telford and Shrewsbury to play a cluster from Tamworth and Stafford.

The girls played 3 games of 20 minutes which saw all girls get plenty of game time and what a game it was. It was fast paced and exciting from the start.

The girls were keen to get stuck back into competitive rugby and the newly formed team were working together like they’d been a team for months. The teamwork was phenomenal. The girls just clicked and the enjoyment on their faces was a delight to see.

The girls played proper end to end rugby with great passing, tackling and rucking. The scrums were good, as were the line outs.

At the end of the afternoon it was a 36 - 5 win to Worcester/ Shropshire

Try scorers were Sarah (Shropshire), Caitlin (Worcester), Ala (Worcester) and Els (Worcester) and Conversions from Ellie (Worcester) and Lacy (Shropshire).

A special mention has to go to our coach Tom, who did a fantastic job of rotating all the players to make sure they all got plenty of game time and for remembering all their names!

We also had quite a few positive comments from the opposition about our shiny new women’s fit numbered shirts.

They really are rather lovely.

Today just reaffirmed what we already know and that is rugby girls make the best girl gangs. So if you want to be part of a really special gang of girls, then get in touch with us today.
