Worcester Girls Under 18’s V Old Hales

National Cup Pool Game #1

We were so proud of the girls today. It wasn’t the result we had hoped for but the girls put in a cracking effort against a very well drilled Old Hales team.

A week ago we didn’t know if we would be able to field a full team due to player illness, injury and other rugby commitments, but the available girls all stepped up to the mark and with some of them playing out of position and their comfort zones, they gave it their all.

They have a lot to be proud of.

A big thanks to the girls recovering from injury who came along to give fantastic support to their team mates and to Charley, who most definitely was there in spirit. It wasn’t easy for them to watch from the sidelines when all they wanted to do was get stuck in.

Thanks to all the girls, their families, coaches, managers and first aiders from both teams, who all helped to make it a great afternoon both on and off the pitch.

And quote of the day has to go to Charlotte,

“The number 9 position should be banned, how can anyone be expected to run round so much”

Here’s to the 7th November when we meet again
