Worcester Barbarians V Worcester Under 23's

I'm sure a full match report will be created for this game but we have a short summary and some pictures for you for now.

It truly was a great game of rugby with quality performances from both squads. At half time it was decided that a few U23's would bolster the Barbarians backs a little and this made for an even better spectacle.

There was good spectator support for this game and literally everyone I spoke to were so impressed by the quality of the competitive and good natured rugby.

This was our Under 23's first ever game as WRFC U23's. Some had been able to make the one hour training session but many were meeting again for the first time in many years.

The Worcester Barbarians were made up from all our senior Worcester male teams and had assistance from other local clubs including some boys from Droitwich.

The after match meal was also well spirited with a Christmas sweater theme.

The match was kindly sponsored by open Energy Market that were also delighted to supply quite a few jugs of beer/larger.

We all look forward to the Under 23’s January match before most of our players return to their studies.

Well done to everyone who came up with the concept, organised it, assisted on the day, played and finally to Jonny Arr for agreeing to take on the Head Coach role for the Under 23’s.
