Worcester Girls Under 18’s couldn’t wait to get back to training at the end of March after a long absence due to Covid restrictions.

The news that they could resume contact at the end of April was met with enthusiasm and eagerness. After a few training session, the girls were ready for their first game in over 12 months against Old Hales at home. There were a few nerves all round to begin with for this friendly but they soon settled into their stride and thoroughly enjoyed it all. No scores were kept but we think Old Hales pipped us at the post for a very close game. The following week we had a return match at Old Hales. This time both teams were now back into the swing of rugby and after a hard fought game, Worcester Girls game out on top.

On the evening of Friday 28th May, we meet again under the lights for our final game of the season with Benny Williams refereeing.

Who will finish the season victorious?

We all will. Rugby’s back and the girls are enjoying themselves.

Big thanks to Tom (Worcester) and Mark (Old Hales) for reffing the games, to the coaches and team managers for making the games happen and the clubs for their welcoming hospitality.
