The height bar is now fitted and vehicles over 1.9 metres will not be able to enter the ground without prior arrangement.

The Management Committee considered at length last night whether or not to open and leave open the height bar for midweek training and at the weekend.  Having carefully listened to the arguments on both sides we have decided it will remain closed and locked.

As everyone will know the recent illegal occupation of the site by travellers was very disruptive, with costs to remove them and clean up the site amounting to over £15,000.  Also, several Club members along with the police faced threats of violence from the some of the travellers.  The travellers forcibly entered the site in daylight also threatening a visitor to the club.  You will understand it is not an experience we are keen to repeat.

Key members of the club and team managers will have the code and permission to open the gate to let larger vehicles enter but on the clear understanding that the gate must be immediately closed and locked.  It must not be left open.

We appreciate this may cause some disruption to a small group of players and members and we will review our decision at the end of February.  In the meantime, our priority remains the security of the site and the safety of everyone.

If you believe this may cause you some difficulties, please speak to your team manager now.
