"We aren't worried whether you have turned into dressing gown wearing XBox or Netflix addicts or indeed, superfit runners during the last lockdown, we'd just love to see everyone back at training."

Long time no speak, we hope everyone is well.

We are delighted to let you know that we have a new management team in place for the Worcester Colts, please see the introduction letter from Marie below. We also have loads of additional coaches.

We are really keen for the all the Colts, who have & haven't returned so far, to come long and do some training. The new training plans look great, all skills based, (no running up and down the Hartlebury common hills I'm afraid - but Matt M is working on them!!).

We know there are various commitments with school & academy training, but the new team have shown a commitment to work around this where possible. The goal is to make Worcester RFC your club, so when you've finished University or move back into city after living away, ours is the door you knock on for a game of rugby.

We think alot of you are on Easter holidays now so what better way to keep up your fitness levels for the next few weeks!!  Hopefully see you there.

If anyone has friends who fancy trying a training session or two please do bring them along.

Return to Rugby 30th March 2021

Hi All

Firstly an introduction - I believe I may know some of you already as our paths may have crossed over the years at the rugby club.   My name is Marie Meredith and I'll be the manager for the Colts going forward from the return to rugby next week.  I have been with the current U16 age group for many years and looking forward to getting to know everyone going forward.  Since I may not know all those who come training I might approach you (from a safe distance) just to confirm contact details to help with communication going forward.

We're very much looking forward to getting rugby back on the road in what has been a very disjointed and interrupted season.  We aren't worried whether the players have turned into dressing gown wearing XBox or Netflix addicts, or indeed superfit runners during the last lockdown, we'd just love to see everyone back at training. If anyone has friends who fancy trying a training session or two please do bring them along.

The U16’s will also start their transition into the colts age group, so will be attending training when it restarts. The coaches from both Colts and U16 intend working together from the start and have already started to plan the next few sessions.

Our first session is on Tuesday 30th March on Pitch 2 (pitch right by the gate entrance). The new Covid guidelines have done away with the need for everyone to line up to have their temperatures taken but we DO need the health declaration completing please - same rules apply to this i.e complete no less than 24 hours before training but also to arrive no later than the start of the session to avoid me fervently checking my emails before the players can go onto the pitch.

We'll meet by the gate to pitch 2 to check everyone off the list.  Please ensure the players bring hand sanitiser, a drink and gum shield.  Please arrive at 7pm for a 7.15pm start.  The session should finish at 8.15.

The club house won't be open unfortunately until the next stage of the government reopening plans. But nevertheless it's an outing isn't it!?

What you need to do:-

Health declaration - link is here : http://bit.ly/wrfctrack

To peruse the latest club guidelines - these are here :http://bit.ly/wrfcrtr130321

Please also be aware that players should arrive changed and ready and that there is a one spectator one player ratio. The guidelines also state that there should be no mixing of households or spectators  - weirdly the guidelines for rugby are slightly different to those away from the game so parents will have to wave at each other from their cars.........

We then have sessions planned for every Sunday 11.30 until 12.45 up on the top pitches. If circumstances allow we'll look to arrange some games for all groups in a few weeks time.

And as the universe appears to be smiling on our return to rugby, the glorious weather forecast for Tuesday means you may, for once, not need your Big Coat.

Hope to see you on Tuesday - please do give me a call or email if you'd like to discuss anything

Marie
