Worcester Rugby Football Club

Closure of Club to Training and Rugby

Dear members, volunteers, players and parents/guardians

In light of the government’s announcement this afternoon the RFU has taken the decision to suspend all rugby activity with immediate effect and until further notice.

The club will therefore be closed for training and matches with effect from today 16 March 2020.

We will review over the next few days planned social events and commercial bookings at the club.

We appreciate the decision to close for training and rugby will have an impact on all teams and supporters but know that everyone will understand and support the action by the RFU and club.

We will be in touch with committee members and team managers over the coming days to consider the next steps and how the rugby community can stay together over this period.

The last few weeks have been unprecedented, and we know placed considerable pressure on everyone involved in running the club.  We thank them for their determination and hard work.  Sadly, we have yet to face greater challenges and our thoughts will be with our members, players, volunteers and parents/guardians over the weeks and months ahead.
