Worcester RFC Dual Affiliation Policy Version 1.0 “No pay, no play” Policy Statement

With smaller clubs in the vicinity of Worcester RFC, and with reduced player numbers in some age groups, we have seen a rise in the desire for players to represent their local, smaller club, and Worcester RFC simultaneously.

As with most clubs, Worcester RFC are under significant financial pressure and the cost associated with providing rugby facilities is increasing. Therefore, any player who wishes to represent Worcester RFC must be affiliated and pay subs to Worcester RFC.

If the player wishes to train with or represent another club, then it is for them to discuss this with the other club directly. No player will be permitted to represent Worcester RFC without being affiliated and paying subs to Worcester RFC. This ensures fairness between players who have represented Worcester RFC before and those who which to represent Worcester RFC either on a short term or continual basis.

Combining the teams, both with low numbers, from two clubs for a specific fixture is permitted when approved by the Mini/Junior Chair for age grade rugby and the Director of Rugby for senior rugby. Any player representing Worcester RFC must do so in Worcester RFC kit, including playing shirt, shorts, and socks.

If any player or parent of a player has any concerns about affordability they should complete the Financial Support form which will be reviewed in confidence by the Mini/Junior Chair who will follow-up with direct communication with the player or parent concerned.
