Worcester Girl’s U18’s V Old Hales

Sunday 3rd October 2021

This Sunday should have seen us travel to Gloucestershire for our second game of the season but unfortunately the recent fuel crisis and player illness got the better of us and we instead arranged a last minute home game against our lovely local rivals, Old Hales.

The girls from both team were so excited to see each other before the game, (as were the team managers) and had a quick chin wag before they settled into a pre match training session.

It was agreed that we would play 4 quarters with rolling subs so everyone got plenty of game time. Worcester were slow to come out of the starting blocks and at half time we were down by a couple of try’s but for the 3rd quarter, something clicked and we were off, putting balls over the try line and then converting those try’s. The girls were putting into practice the skills they had been developing during training over the last 4 weeks since full contact had resumed and they were all blooming awesome. They all brought something to the game, with some fantastic tackles, running lines and solid scrums. It was almost full time and Worcester were now winning but right at the last minute, Old Hales turned the ball over and with a fantastic run, they put the ball over their try line to make it a 24 all draw.

As soon as the final whistle blew, both teams were hugging each other and chatting away again as they walked back over to the changing rooms to spend the next hour socialising with each other.

Just what rugby is all about.

Until the next time Old Hales!
