During August, some of our Under 18’s girls received an email inviting them to attend Worcester Warriors Centre of Excellence trials along with many girls from other clubs in the North Mids area and other counties. The trials consisted of 2 full Sundays, one at the end of August and one at the beginning of September at Six Ways, with Benny Williams and Warriors staff putting the girls through their paces.

After an agonising wait of almost a week, 7 of our girls received the exciting email that they had been selected. There were only so many places available and so many more girls at the trials than places available. So while our successful girls and other girls were really excited to receive this news, there were many more girls that would have been disappointed.

We are extremely proud of all our girls that attended the trials. They all put in so much effort and worked really hard. Unfortunately not everyone could be selected into the program.

We are really proud of Charley, Ellie, Evelyn, Heidi, Lily, Millie and Rosie who were successful in being selected in Worcester Warriors Centre of Excellence.

But the hard work now begins. Training sessions are hard and full on, with home work to be done between sessions with lots of self evaluation and areas to improve on.

To keep their places they have to continue to work hard, show commitment, teamwork, enthusiasm and have the ability to take constructive criticism and use it to improve their skills,  but we know they can do it.

We’re also looking forward to the girls sharing their knowledge and newly learned skills with their teammates.

Well done girls.
