Worcester Colts 19 - Old Yardleians 12 | Sunday 5th September 2021
A gorgeous sunny September Sunday saw a welcome return to regular rugby and Worcester RFC Colts first league game of the season at Westons Fields. It was an absolute pleasure to host Old Yardleians players and supporters for what proved to be a well contested close game.

In the first four minutes, Worcester Colts started the match with intent but with a disallowed try by Ben Amos. Three minutes later, Worcester crossed the line again with a Ben Atkins try, this time being allowed. Ben Waddington kicked the conversion.

Old Yards came back into the game with an unconverted try and then scored again in the first half with a converted try. Old Yards went in at halftime, leading 7 - 12.

Worcester finally broke the second half stalemate in the final quarter, scoring to again take the lead. Ben Amos broke the Old Yards line, and a well-timed pass saw Ben Marsh go on the outside and score under the posts. Conversion kicked by Ben Waddington.

Elliot Fairyn sealed the game with an unconverted try in the dying minutes of the game. Proving that you don't need to be called Ben to score! Worcester colts came out winners 19-12 in a very tightly contested game.

We are looking forward to the return fixture at Old Yards later in the season.
